Taking a picture with a child

Can my sim mom take a picture with her son? When I try it says there is no one around to take a picture of.

You can take a picture of the son but adults and children can't take them together - it's restricted to teen-elders, child + child.

You can have the two of them sit together on a couch or bench and have someone else use the "take photo" option.

Thanks. I usually have my families sit in chairs and I take a screen shot. I've just discovered the picture option. It sucks that mother\father and son\daughter cant take a picture together. I'm making a memory wall of photos for my sim. Thanks for the idea of having them sit together. That will work.
