I was playing today and because my sim would almost never wash his own dishes, I would always drag them to the sink for him. But after so many times my sink broke, I decided to drag them in the trash. After a while I got the No-touch trashcan I think it was? and I started dragging dishes into it. Each plate I put in there, My sim gained 10 dollars. I don't know if they meant to do this, or what, because it seems unrealistic and odd. It does help out in a money situation though, so I thought I'd share it!

This is correct, that trash can gives you back money and this tip can be found right on the first post of the Hints & Tips thread!

Plus you get 10$ per sim in the household 

I started out as single sim. Every time i trashed something, then i got 10$. Then i adopted a girl and it bumped up to 20$ (atleast from child sim) 

*edited* Well my adopted daughter adopted a child of her own, now we get 30$ each time

You are right, I have 5 sims and get §50 - that pays for all the replaced appliances in no time...
