Relationships?
« on: September 15, 2014, 04:57:46 AM »
I have a sim, got her pregnant to a random guy, she had twins. She married a different sim, and they don't show as children for the different sim. Is this a glitch or by design? I tried to fix it with CAS full edit but it gives me the message 'you can't edit pre-existing sim' :(

I'm not sure if it tracks step children or not.  Technically, they're not his children.

How lame. I did it because I wanted my lesbian sim to have kids of her own and go through pregnancy but still get married to her (now) wife.

That's kinda really silly :(

If doing the cas fulledit cheat isn't working then there is a work around...

First get both sims id by typing
Code: [Select]
sims.get_sim_id_by_name yoursimfirstname yoursimlastname
Then use
Code: [Select]
relationship.add_bit parentsimID childsimID family_son_daughter
I'm not exactly sure on the order but if I am wrong swapping them and doing it again should work =)

Thank you :)

I did try that but for some silly reason it would only work on one of the children.

Seems to be a solid workaround though.

At this point (since it's more important to me that they're both labelled 'mother' I deleted the babies and created a genetics child between the two parents.

I suppose that's also a work around if you're willing and the child isn't overly developed yet.

Weird. I had no problem changing my adopted kid's second parent slot to 'father' as well using cas.fulleditmode. Maybe it's because for an unmarried adopter they only come with one parent while presumably a natural child has both slots set already. I've only seen that error message when not in full edit mode though.

That is something I did not think about. You are probably right. I may have been able to fix it by editing the father but he was kind of a sperm donor only type situation so he wasn't in the house. Thanks for the thought though XD it may explain why even in CAS I was unable to fix it.

Aha, yes, not being editable at that moment would make sense then. If it happened again you could probably just move him in temporarily and try to fix it.
