Burning Leaves

I burned a pile of leaves recently and got money from insurance. I looked around but nothing was damaged. This must be a glitch because I tried again and nothing happened. Has this happened to you?

I've had that happen once.
 After the leaf pile finished burning my neat sim went outside and mopped the lawn! So I guess the insurance money was for the scorched 'floor'! So maybe it is a glitch. I don't burn the leaf piles very often, as more times than not they seem to set my whole house on fire and that's even when the pile is a fair distance from my sims house.

Something similar, My Witch got a wish to cast the Fire Blast spell so I sent her to the backyard to cast the spell on the ground. After casting the spell she put the fire out and then received a $300,000 payment from the insurance to cover the damage even tho nothing was damaged. I  tried it a second time and again got a $300,000 payment. Must have been some expensive grass.
