Maybe you should point out that once you choose a career branch with one sim, they can't choose the other branch of the same career? I think that would be useful on the career guide. (Looked to see if it was there, but couldn't find it - might be my oversight).

You are right. I did not note that. I would like to later tell people what level each branches, but for now did an edit to tell them to look for X and X when hovering over the career icon, just in case they want to make a savegame before the branch so they can try both.

I hope so. I was kind of upset when I found this out. I wanted my Sim to be a journalist because I thought it was cooler than being an author, even though that was the more higher paying career. Soooo I made him a journalist and found it tedious and annoying. It sounded cool because you get to interview a bunch of Sims but that gets so boring after awhile. I just want my guy to sit down at a computer and write a book and I really want him to go into the author career now, but I can't, because of this! Very frustrating.

What cheat would I use to undo it? Cause I really want to start him over in that branch and get him back to being an author without having to start from scratch again.

Is there a fix in the works for this in the future or is this just part of the game?

I'm guessing it's part of the game, so that you Sims can pick up a career where they left it in case they want to go back? Not sure.

The cheat for it is:
1. Open console, and do "testingcheats true", without quotes;
2. Quit current job using the phone;
3. Open console, and do "Careers.add_career <NameOfCareer>", without quotes or brackets, and the career's name instead of "NameOfCareer".

Thank you!!!! What I ended up doing was evicting my Sim that I wanted the writer career and editing him a little in CAS and then moving him back into his house. The problem with doing that instead of using cheats is 1. Loss of money 2. Loss of royalties he was getting 6 grand in royalties a day!!!! 3. Loss of relationships, yup, they all disappeared

So this kind of sucked. I feel like I am starting from scratch now. He has all of his skills and traits thankfully, but yeah, still sucks that I worked hard to get all that money and those royalties and poof, gone! Relationships take a lot more work to maintain in this game too. So yeah. Oh well lol
