The Weaponized Joke
« on: June 12, 2015, 10:13:12 AM »
Filling the Joke Master aspiration gives your sim some new joke socials.  I had a dinner party going on and queued up several social interactions in a large group conversation (4+ sims) including a new joke type, the Weaponized Joke.  I then moved on to queue up a few more socials on another sim when....

*Every* sim lost bladder control *except* the Comedian.  Weaponized Joke turned a pleasant party into a house full of Mortified or Dazed people.  I quickly cancelled the party and sent all my household sims down for a nap (sleep emotion overrides everything!) until the stack of embarrassed icons disappeared.

I made the Comedian (who was immune to her own joke) mop up the living room, which was nothing but a sea of puddles.

So take warning, that Joke is potentially *lethal*!  I'm not sure I even want to touch the Horrifying Joke.

There was a Monty Python skit about a joke that was developed for warfare, known as 'The Killer Joke'. Your experience with the weaponized joke makes me wonder if this was a Monty Python in game reference.

It was a joke that the skit asserted was written in German and had the fail safe of not being able to be translated into English in order to protect the English.

The weaponized joke is really useful when playing a legacy or some other such challenge where you have to get every type of death. I can see how it would be a pain in ordinary play though! @Deklitch, I'm sure it is, the first time I used it that was exactly what I was thinking of.

I will be very careful not to use it anymore, that's for sure!  I'll stick with World's Funniest Joke and keep an eye on my sim when she's being independently social with someone.  Sudden mass death  isn't on the to do list!

:o Yep, scratching THAT aspiration off the to-do list. If they use that joke autonomously, I think I will never let any of my Sims have that.  :-\
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.
