Homeless Townie Reset?
« on: October 06, 2014, 03:49:49 PM »
So I'm playing in Sunset Valley, and I have my Sim going around to a bunch of households, bringing back everyone's dead spouses/relatives, etc. I started at Agnes Crumplebottom's house, and because I have Seasons/Supernatural, apparently Erik Darling's ghost can only appear during the full moon? So that leaves with one problem: Zombies. My usual tactic for dealing with Zombies is to enable cheats, then "Object- Delete It". Usually that just resets the Sim so that it's safe (right?), but now the zombies are not of the familiar Sunset Valley preset Sims, but they're randomly-generated Sims. I kinda want to go back to the preset Sims- just the homeless townies that were popping out of the ground before. Is there a way to reset the Homeless Townies without resetting my game? I know this is a bit of an odd request, but I kinda like playing with the presets around instead of randomly generated. Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to our Forum, aquabreeze.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you are deleting zombies, why not play without them?  You can change the seasons setting so that it will never be full moon, no zombies at all.

The zombies are the homeless townies temporarily turned into zombies, like if you used the "zombification" alchemy potion on them. So when you clicked "delete it," you deleted the sim out of existence. You would probably have to start a new save file to get those sims back. Sorry.  :(

Next time, you could try the "resetsim" cheat on the zombie to get them out of the way when they spawn. I don't know if you tried that already or not, but it might work.

If you want to be rid of the zombies altogether but keep moon phases, and don't have a problem using mods, there is one that gets rid of zombies completely during the full moon.  I've been using it for well over a year now with no issues.  Since this isn't the mods section, I don't feel comfortable linking it here without permission, but you can PM me for the name and location if you would like it.

Aw, shoot D: Thanks for your help and the welcomes, guys. I suppose I could start over... I can use a cheat to get the Philosopher's Stone to bind Eric's ghost to the household to get back to where I was- I hadn't even brought him back yet.

I'm glad I know that deleting Zombies 'kills' the Sims... that way next time I know not to delete them. Can you cure zombies that aren't in your household? I need the moon phases to be automated because Eric's ghost only appears at the full moon (I think??) and I'm a bit nervous about using mods, TS3 is reaaal easy to break. I'll use the resetSim cheat for sure next time.

If resetting the sims doesn't work, you can cure zombies not in your household by throwing the cure elixir at them. It can be made at level 2 alchemy, so it doesn't take long to learn. The ingredients are red valerian and mandrake, which are both common plants that you could quickly put in Sunset Valley with the buydebug cheat.  All you have to do is have your sim throw the cure elixir at any zombies that spawn, and it should turn them back to their regular selves.

If you happen to have the version of Supernatural that came with the Plants vs. Zombies content, you can also put a pea shooter on the lot. When a zombie shows up, click the pea shooter, and it will force the zombie to let the pea shooter hit it, curing the zombification on the sim.
