Saving After Error 12
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:41:56 PM »
Is there still a way to save after getting an Error 12?

I usually just restart my game when I get Error 12. It's fine since I've made it a habit of saving every Sim night so I don't lose a lot when it happens. I read before that when you get Error 12, just let the game run normally and then try to save again later on but that's never really worked for me. I just end up restarting the game anyway. But I like the things that happened to my Sims today and I'm afraid the same things won't happen again if I restart. So is there another way to still save the game after the error?

Try Save As, and give it a new name.

Like MrsFlynn says, Save As can work.

I also recommend turning off interactive loading screens, memories and use Save Cleaner. This will reduce you chance of getting Error 12.

Save As didn't work so I just restarted anyway. Sigh. Oh well, maybe it wasn't meant for my Sims. Lol.

I do turn off everything when I play and even disconnect from the internet. What is Save Cleaner?

If you have a Windows 32 bit system you might try making the changes listed on this Wiki page.
When I was using a 32 bit system I would get the Error 12 often but after I made those changes and I didn't have another Error Code 12 for over a year when I bought a new computer.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.
