Sims 3 Big Problems
« on: August 31, 2014, 01:47:40 PM »
I brought sims and a few stuff packs and expansion packs including:
Expansion Packs:
Seasons
Late Night
Island Paradise
Stuff Packs:
High End Loft Stuff

Note: I am using mac with OSX 10.6.8 The External Drive has 69.83gb available  and the Mac HDD has 17.1gb    the game says its up to date version 1.42.130.019001

When i first got the game i managed to install Island Paradise but not any of the others i deleted the sims off of my computer to save space and i just installed the Sims 3 on an External drive and i managed to play it successfully however i really don't like the standard furniture in the game so i quit and installed High End Loft Stuff (i assume i had to install them in order) so i did the install process it displayed a message saying that the game is more up to date than expected and that it could be incompatible (i have read that all i have to do is click yes to the update that appears when you open the launcher) so i updated it and double clicked the launcher to open it a blue light shoes under the icon to say its active and then the high end loft stuff symbol appears (all normal) then it just closes so i try again and same happens (i have tried with both the base game disk and the high end loft stuff disk but none work) so i reluctantly uninstall it and try with the Late night and exactley the same happened :( i really want to install them but this isn't the first problem i have had

(a while ago i did the same but with the island paradise pack and the launcer did open that time but the game didnt have any towns or anything)

I hope you can help

Thanks

Try this. It works for me on windows, so it should hopefully work for you.

Install the base game. Let it patch.
Install all the EP's/SP's you want. They will complain about the game being too up to date. Ignore that, install anyway.

Once that's done, run the Super Patch (search google for sims 3 super patch 1.67 and you should find the mac version).

It will complain it's already installed. Tell it to install anyway.

That should do it. :)
