Buying Stuff from Sims 3 Store

Hi there. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the Sims 3 store will still be open after the Sims 4 comes out & if we will still be able to buy store content from the former? If so, then for how long? Also, if I buy Sims 3 content, do I have to download it right away? My current computer cannot handle the Sims 3 & it will be a few months until I can afford one that will be able to, in the meantime, there is still some Sims 3 content I wish to buy, hence the reason for all these questions.

I think the store will be open for many years to come. The Sims 2 website only closed last year or something like that. You don't need to download content right away. I often purchase on my ipad and download onto the computer a few days later.

I believe that the Sims 2 Store closed not long after Sims 3 came out.  The website may have been active until fairly recently, but I don't know that it was selling Store items.  I don't have any exact dates, but I suspect the Sims 3 Store will eventually close.  That's probably why they have been making so many things inexpensive lately.

Do EA announce when they close their stores or do they just do it without warning? I'm just wondering how much time I have to buy store content for the Sims 3.

They'll definitely announce it. They did with the TS2 Store, so I don't see why they'd close it without notice this time.

I'm sure they announce it ahead of time.  They gave notice when they closed the Sims 2 store awhile back and I expect they'll do the same with Sims 3.  We'll be sure to post it if we hear anything.
