Moving world and vacation homes
« on: September 24, 2010, 06:25:27 AM »
So, I'm going to move my family from Riverview to Twinbrooks. Does anybody know what happens to the vacation homes? As in does the game glitch and when the family is in Twinbrook the vacation homes disappear?

I know when I moved my family from one town to another, she lost all three vacation homes, which was a bummer because I built two of them.  Also, any family outside of the household will be lost.  I found that out the hard way too.  That is just my experience, whether or not it happens again, I can't say, but if I don't have to, I am not changing worlds again if I have vacation homes or a large extended family.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

I moved my family from Riverview to Twinbrook, and while they retained ownership of their vacation homes, the vacation lots were returned to how they were when I first bought them. Since I had built 2 of them from scratch, that was kinda annoying...
Oh and I also had a problem where all framed paintings disappeared. Maybe put them in inventory before moving?

Hmm, looks like moving worlds is going to be more annoying than I thought. But I must admit I'm not overly fond of Riverview after giving it a good go, and haven't really explored Twinbrook yet. What I'll probably do is save my vacation homes to the library so when I change worlds I can just place them back down. Not so worried about losing outside family as I don't have any yet, and wishes I'm fine with losing as I'm reaching a point where it doesn't matter that much.

I also lost all my businesses that the Characters had, so now they are struggling to get all of their 12 ownerships back, so they seem to be below the 20,000 mark. Good thing I always keep a No Bills reward as I would hate to find out what the bills for their home are!  ;)

Hi everybody, I have a related question to this problem. I am starting a game where I try to play every Lifetime Wish with new sim in only one town, without starting a new game from scratch.[1]

My question is: when I explore tombs, disarm traps, collect sigils and complete quests with one household, will I find the tombs already explored (and sigils gone) with the new sim/family? Sorry if I am asking this, but I haven't had time to test this thoroughly yet and could not find the topic on google.

[1] I would like to play this game only in one "living town" (epic timeline, aging and storyline on), watching the neighborhood change and creating a new sim / making a new household active every time I complete the former LTW.

Ok, I can finally answer myself to this question. Starting a new family in an old save does not reset traps, statues, sygils/glyphs and locks in tombs. The new family will however get the "tomb completion" status. :)
