Moving save file to new computer - not working

Moving my daughters sims game from a Windows Vista to a Windows 7 computer. I installed the game on the Win7 computer. Then I went to to the Vista computer and copied the save file in My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder. I then went to the Win7 computer and saved the copied file to that computer at the same location. When I start the game it still wants to start a new game and will not load any of the data from the game saved on the Vista computer. What am I doing wrong?

On my Windows 7 computer, the saved games are not in My Documents->Electronic Arts->The Sims 3 (And I assume you meant to add "\Saves" here). Instead, they are in Libraries->Documents->Electronic Arts->The Sims 3->Saves. I believe the difference is that they are actually in what used to be called "shared documents."
