Playing for tips in Hidden Springs
« on: June 10, 2014, 08:52:49 PM »
I hope this hasn't been answered already - I did try searching. I'm new to Sims 3 and this is my first musician sim. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong as I've been playing for tips for 3 days in Hidden Springs and only gotten tips from one sim! Is there a good spot for this in Hidden Springs that I'm missing? I haven't seen any bigger concentrations of people.

I've tried a few different places - a couple of parks, including a few tries at the big park in the middle of town; outside the grocery store; outside the bistro. I've had the most luck at the bistro but even then it was just one person tipping. I've maxed out guitar skill but nobody seems to be interested. :P

I've not tried in Hidden Springs, but my impression is that the store worlds and the ones that came with World Adventures are terrible for tips. If you have Late Night, placing a subway will get you money from tips. You might try in front of the theater -- that seems to be the best place in Sunset Valley.

I just moved a musician into Hidden Springs and I've had pretty good luck playing at the big park, right next to the little building with the bathrooms and coffee machine.

I haven't played in Hidden Springs, but in other towns, I have found that Performance Park is really good for tips, when there's not a SimFest going. There's usually not much else to do there, so my musicians get almost all the attention. I can easily rake in 1000+ simoleans in a few hours. (this is with maxed, or almost maxed, skill)
I wake up every day planning to be productive, but a voice in my head says 'hahaha good one' and we laugh and laugh and take a nap.
