I Don't Have an Override Folder
« on: July 13, 2014, 01:41:30 PM »
I followed a tutorial to set-up my Mods file not too long ago. Everything has been running fine but I discovered when researching Mods today that I should have an Override File with my Packages and Resource.cfg files. I didn't find an explanation of what this file is for however. Do I need to install the Framework set-up from Nraas to get this? Can I do that when I already have several Mods installed? Am I okay to continue to play without an Override folder?  Thanks!

I would use the framework and instructions from Nraas/MTS to make sure you have no problems.

Or you can just create an Overrides folder in your Mods folder. It doesn't need a ccmerged file or anything like that and the only time you will use that folder is if you have 2 mods that do the same thing but you want the game to read one over the other, hence the term override! But MTS has it all set up nicely so going that route is safest...

So all I need is an empty folder named Overrides in my Mods file? Thanks for the help!

I just checked mine now I'm home, and it's completely empty.

So yes, that will do the job. :)

Thanks again! It's really great to have a place to ask stupid questions and actually get an answer. I'm really grateful!
