Question about chatting with sims on the phone

How much does the friend bar go up when you chat with a sim on the phone?

I don't think it goes up much. I think chatting on the phone is more for filling the social needs bar.

I haven't played the console version, but on the PC version, the friendship bar goes up just enough to put the other Sim back as a friend if it's only been a day since the relationship decayed.  For example, if you get a notice at midnight that so-and-so is no longer friends with your Sim, you can call that Sim first thing in the morning and it will bring the relationship right back up to friends.

I also use phone chats if my sim has a few good friends who are extremely close to best friend status. I just queue up chats until they are besties. It's quicker in person but not with travel time.
