Can't get my Band any gigs- Is this a bug?

So I just got Late Night ( way late to the game I know) and decided to put my sim in a band. She's in a 4 person group and I had her register the band but it's been like 3 sim weeks since and there have been no gig  offers for the band. I've tried to look everywhere for reasons why this is. Some people have said you need at least a level 4 on your instrument skill so I got my sim to a level 4 on her guitar....nothing. I've had the band jam in front of the theater and film studio so I could at the very least get tips...nothing. My sims always answers her phone so it's not that an offer has been missed.

Is there anything I'm missing that I can do? Are there any cheats? I'm so frustrated about this.

To be honest, I've never had any luck with this myself.  However, what I've heard is that you need to perform at the locations that have the instruments already set up and the proprietors will start noticing you and start calling.  I can't say this will work, but it might be worth a try.

At the very beginning, I was getting a lot of gigs.  After a while, I would get the notification, go on the day specified and then couldn't perform the gig.  The icon just seemed to go away.  Then I would get the notice that my band had missed their chance to play.  I haven't tried a gig in a very long time, so not sure if it still applies.  There are a few things that didn't use to work and now am finding that they do, so maybe this is one of them, might have to try it again.

Do you have a Dive Bar in town? I've hear that it's the only venue-type that will offer band gigs. Even then, I think they're just hard to come by.

Oh okay I'll try that. I've also heard playing for tips in the subway helps too so I'm going to try that as well. Thanks!

My sim is in Bridgeport so yeah I have quite a few dive bars to try and play at.

It's just frustrating and I'm finding more and more people that complain about the gig thing. It seems this is something that EA would've fixed in a patch by now.

Do you have Showtime as well?  If so, have you auditioned for the proprietor of the venue? Usually there is a small picture of the proprietor at his/her venue in map view. You should be able to go there, click on the proprietor and select the audition interaction. You might have to audition a couple of times before they hire you. I've been able to get gigs at the big show venues and some of the smaller ones like Mick's Karaoke and the Party Warehouse (not sure if that's the correct name of the place).

I don't have showtime, it's actually one I'm thinking of getting next time there is a sale on origin though ( that's how I got Late night).
