Living alone while married?
« on: May 14, 2014, 01:16:18 AM »
So let's say, that the father who has always been a Loner and not a family Sim, decides he wants to move out and go back to his old roots, yet still living in the neighborhood. He also wants the pleasure of his only son, coming over to be with him on occasion.
He also wants to be able for his wife to come over, or him coming to their old house, and possibly WooHoo or Try for Baby, and then go back home. :P Yeah. My Sim is a bit... well, you know. ;)

Would this be possible? I'm pretty sure it is, as by EA default, you can split up the family and having that split go to another house or whatever. I just want a second opinion, especially for the two things my Sim desires.

He would have to move out to another house by himself. But there's nothing stopping him from doing that.

Ok. So moving out, and not splitting the house up? And will he still be able to do the two things he desires?

Thank you very much for your time, Trip. The move was a success. And thank the lord I still have Pangu's Axe.

One thing to be aware of is that once the father has moved out, the mother and kids may leave town because of Story Progression.  It's not by any means a sure thing, but it's a possibility if you're not controlling that household.

If you wanted to control both houses at the same time, you could purchase the dad's house as an additional property and have him live there while mom and child stay at the primary home.  You then keep control of all three sims.

So your Sim has moved out to his own place. For the wife and child to visit him, they should be in good terms or even friends. If the wife or child is the outgoing type, it will visit him on his own. If not, you can invite them over, if they are not in good terms they will decline.
