Game Launcher won't open

So I have not played Sims in awhile and I want to get back into it, but when I click the icon on my desktop the launcher doesn't open. I try to open it via Origin, but it doesn't work. I have tried to run as administrator and nothing worked. All other programs I have on my desktop open though. Any suggestions?

Try to restart your computer, and maybe reinstall your game?

Origin which I have downloaded won't even open now..
And I guess I can try and reinstall. It is just a pain to do with so many games. XD I'll have to try this weekend.

Origin might still be running. Try seeing if the process shows up in Task Manager, and if it's there, force it to end. Then try to open Origin.

I always have to do that, for some reason.

How do you get to the task manager on Windows 8?

how long did you wait? sometimes the game launcher takes 5-10 mins to load for my case.
