A mod I can edit skills/perks for active Sim(s) - RESOLVED
« on: March 31, 2014, 03:58:48 PM »
Hey. Looking for a mod that I can set specific skills for my active Sims.
Scenario: My main Sim has 10 Cooking, but only for survival. He'll soon have a wife that'll cook for him, so it'll be pointless (to me) to have Cooking for him. I want to be able to set his Cooking skill to.. at least 1 so he won't burn the house down (yes, I know about the Fireproof Homestead trait) if he does decide to cook if the wife isn't at home.

Also, I was hoping to be able to remove (what I feel) unnecessary perks that I've set for certain active Sims. Say for example, I don't feel he should be a Prepared Traveler anymore, as he rarely goes on vacations. Want to be able to remove it, yet not get the cost back for purchasing it.

I'm thinking of the NRass Mod 'MasterController', and the 'Cheats' module that it has. But, is there anything?

MasterController will do all of that. Skills are modified under Advanced > Skills. Lifetime Rewards are under Advanced > Traits > Lifetime Rewards I think.

Ok. So I would need the 'Cheats' module to do so? Just making sure.

Welcome to our Forum, Benie.

I'm just curious about why you want to do these things.  What's your strategy in having your Sim's cooking skill be reduced?  And why remove the Prepared Traveller reward?  If your Sim doesn't travel, it doesn't do anything.  Why don't you want it sitting in your Sim's happiness tab?  Like I said, just curious.

Hi, Pam. It's mainly for personal reasons. Most people play this game, just to see how the lives of a random out of the blue family they created, turns out (and because it's fun).
I, play the game a very, very specific way, to force things to turn out as planned. I create specific people for specific roles, and how they work out. Namely for RP purposes. That's all.

Hope this answers your curiosity.

k, guys. Now that I had time, I tried the module. After much toil and error, I finally found what I was looking for of setting skills. As a test, I tried unlearning the Sim's Athletic skill, and it went away as expected.

Still one thing, though. Where exactly in MasterController do I go to edit Lifetime Rewards? I want to be able to remove rewards I purchase, not set how much Lifetime Reward points I have.
I found an option to add more Lifetime Rewards, but not remove them.

The option to drop rewards is kind of hidden. in Master Controller select Advanced then Traits and then Drop Rewards. From there you can select which Lifetime Rewards you want to remove.
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.
