Problems with moving to discovered islands
« on: March 25, 2014, 06:43:54 AM »
Hello,

I have a household with 8 sims and one of them discovered an island and now I want to move a part of my household to the new island. But when I use the move action on the phone, the whole household moves. I did not find a possibility to only move the sims I want to move, apparently it is all or nothing.

When I try to do it in edit town, I cannot click on the discovered island, there is no icon. Not even when I convert the island in a regular lot.
I also tried to first move the whole household to the island, then dividing it in edit town and move the divided part back to the old lot, but there is no icon on the old lot! So this does not work either.

My latest idea was to move the whole household to the island, then dividing it in edit town and move the divided part to another lot and then move them back to their old lot. This works (I lose all my wishes, but I can live with that) but for some reason all the plumbots in my household lose all their chips except for unlimited learning. This is a really odd bug and I have no idea how to solve my moving problems.

Can someone please help me or are my plumbots doomed to live together forever?

When you use Move, you should be able to select the Sims you don't want to bring and move them back to the left side. You can't leave kids and teens (and pets) on their own, but YA and up can be left behind.

Well, I don't have the option to leave anyone behind. Normally it should be there, but it isn't.

Guess I broke the game or at least all moving-interactions when my married Sim asked his second wife from the future to move in...
(This caused an interesting bug as well, the moment the second wife moved in the first wife appeared in the future as well, although my sim travelled alone to the future. Additionally the family tree cannot handle two wifes simultanely.)

I haven't done it in awhile, but if I'm understanding you correctly, it can't be done.

You currently are living in House A in Isla Paradiso, and now want to move 3 people from House A to the new plot on Island B. Everyone else you want to leave in House A?

If that's correct, you can't do it. House A will remain as part of your properties, just as Island B currently is part of your properties. In order to split up the household, you'd have to move the unwanted sims out of the household entirely, so they wouldn't have access to either property - otherwise, all you're doing is transferring your household to a new residence amongst all your properties.

What you could try doing is moving the entire household to the new lot, then sell the old house so it's not part of your assets, and then move the unwanted sims out (and hopefully into the house you just sold).
