I posted this under the Showtime forum, but I don't think anyone checks there much so I'm posting it here. Sorry if this is against the rules.
I decided to play a singer character for the first time. She did fine playing for tips but when she got her first Sing-a-Gram she just...wouldn't do it. I've tried everything short of resetting her (because she isn't stuck, she still talks to other sims and whatnot) and still no change. I'll select "Perform Sing-a-Gram", the icon will show up in the interaction queue and then after about a second it disappears. This is HIGHLY frustrating so I'm hoping someone has an idea of what's going on.
