How does one purchase the WA properties?

In Carl's 'The Sims 3 Real Estate Business' guide it says that "Having The Sims 3 World Adventures installed will allow your Sim to purchase the Nectary in France, along with the Chinese Garden and Dojo in China. Data for these locales is not provided."  The Prima Guidebook also says these properties can be purchased.
Does anyone know how to purchase these properties? 
I asked on the Sims 3 site and no one know how either (most didn't even know they could be purchased  .

I haven't tested it, but just to go through the obvious; have you tried checking the real estate through your phone when you're at a vacation?

EDIT: I'm moving this to Miscellaneous Help to keep everything in order. (It is related to WA, but it feels more like a real estate issue)

Thanks Swede.  And yes, I have been trying to purchase while at home through the computer and the phone and also while on vacation.  I also tried just clicking on the property while on vacation and there were no options.

I don't know the answer to this either, but I am wondering if your sim that wants to purchase the property needs to be at Visa 3?  Have you tried this?

Yes, they are at VISA level 3 for all countries.  He even owns 2 homes in Egypt (one his father purchased and one he purchased).
