With a one-bedroom apartment on the top floor, and a well-appointed office on the bottom floor, this small home is perfect for a self-employed architect, artist or designer. The décor is modern, but with touches of traditional Asian art. I built this in response to a request from Rocknryan4 for a sleek and modern office space. It needed a main entry with a seating area for clients, a secretary's desk, then a main office room for an architectural designer. The design was supposed to have a lot of windows and art, and to mix modern style with traditional Asian décor.
The modern-styled building has a small pond and fountain in the front yard, a small pool flanking the house, and dual patios with lounges, a table, and an outdoor kitchen. There are two fruit trees beside the tall bamboo in the backyard. Inside the first floor are the requested entry and seating area (with coffee maker and small half bathroom) plus the architect's office, with a drafting table, artist's easel, desk and computer. There are a few awards and pieces of art already on display, with room to add new items as they're created. Upstairs is an open-plan kitchen and living room, with counter seating, a flat screen TV, bookshelf and chess board. The single bedroom has an attached full bath, and there is a small seating area on the upstairs deck.
