How to move sim out of household but not erase them?(360)
« on: December 12, 2011, 01:32:36 PM »
Hi again. So here's my story.

A young adult Tracy, has a female child(Larissa) and two of Larissa's friends(Arina and Kent) who are also children. At the beginning of the game, they all live together.

Tracy has reached the highest point of the political career, and i have her developing other skills. Tracy will be turning into a Adult in about 4 sim days, and the other 3(now teenagers) will be turning into adults in 8 days(they all have the same birthday).

Two of my sims(Arina and Kent) are dating and i want them to start a family. Larissa is best friends with Kent, so I don't want to kick her out.

The Sims 3 on XBOX 360 starts lagging and freeze saving every time you reach the maximum amount of Sims(6) so I try to keep the Sims in the housheould to as low as possible.

Now I have four already, what will be 5 later on when they have the baby which is cutting it too close. -.-

My question is:

Is it possible to kick a sim out of the family BUT still have them in the game? Like live in a different household. For example. If 3 of my sims move, but leave another sim behind, is it possible for me to visit the Sim that was left behind or not?

If not, I'll just have to erase the poor Sim.  :(

Any help is welcome.

No i don't think it is possible but my game doesn't start to freeze when i have 6 Sims because on mine i made a husband and a wife and made their lifetime wish the surrounded by family one, they had 2 sets of twins and it doesn't keep freezing the only trouble i have is that the disk is broken and when a female trys to teach a toddler how to talk it freezes. But no i don't think you can move them out without having to erase the others and i don't think it should be freezing when you get 6 Sims in a house, slowing yes but not freezing.

Hope i helped!  :)

Hello.
Sadly, no I don't think it is possible to do that on the console versions.  You have to decide which adult sim you want to move out if you need room for a new baby, etc.  I think younger sims can move out too if there is an adult moving out also.
I have one suggestion which may help you if you have not tried this before:  You can go to the mirror to get back to the create-a-sim mode and save sim children who were born within the game once they are no longer newborns.  You can save any sim this way from inside of your active game.  (I have not tried this for formerly non-playable townie sims who join a household, but it works on all sims that you create and sim kids who were born during gameplay as newborns.)  I hope this helps you, if only a little.

Can an sim move into anther household if they marry them? And stay in the game? Or do you have to choose whether to go with the sim who moved out or stay with the family?

You have to pick one household or the other. The one you don't choose will be gone from the game.
