Male sims on maternity leave?

My sim got pregnant, got the popup saying she would get the next 4 work days off as maternity leave.  But after the nooboo was born, she went to work the next day, and her husband got a couple days off instead.  This happened with both of their pregnancies.  I wonder if it's because she's Ambitious and he's Family-Oriented? xD

I just recently had this happen with my legacy family. I was expecting the parents to both get days off, and it turns out the baby's grandfather got some days off too. I'm sure the grandmother would've gotten some soon if she wasn't already retired.

Do you have to have the Generation expansion pack?  My sims have just had their third baby and he was working when the last one was born, but he didn't get any time off for at all.  There is the hubby and wife, and his parents, who are self-employed, so they wouldn't get any time off, as far as a job goes. 
But he didn't get any. 
They don't need the money, they have over 2 million dollars, so no one has to work, but it is a project game, so he has to work for that reason.

I didn't get any leave for the husband but if I did he would never go anywhere with the prof. sport job. I also want here to go to work and you can hire a babysitter instead. I had twins and she just worked from home because of her workaholic trait.

I've never had the father get paternity unless he made an adoptions call.

If you're using NRAAS story progression, paternity leave is set as a default
