Minimum Requirements/ Computer Info
« on: August 29, 2010, 10:50:11 PM »
I do not know if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering. I have read a couple of the other forum topics. Some people just said to build your own computer. I was wondering I have a laptop that is about 3 years old for one its graphics card is higher than the least one but not on the list. Well it is ruining my computer if it makes sense and it is really laggy and unresponsive. I asked my dad and he said we would get a cheap one but he doesn't understand the whole concept of graphics cards and stuff. I am only 15 and I can barely read the opening page of that Tiger Direct site. So my question is should I even bother to try and build my own or can you customise the hardware or software have them build it and send it to you. I probabbly would pick all the best things but then they end up not being compatible. Sorry for the not getting to my point sooner but it is just giving me a headache. By the way I has to be within a $2000 range. Thank you.

Another good site is Visionman.  I have a gamer from there and it was less than you want to spend and it is great, added with a 26 inch monitor, also might want to try http://www.ecollegepc.com/.  They are really good too and you can build your own on either site and put whatever you want in your computers with as many bells and whistles as you need.  Good luck.

I am totally sorry it is just like I went to the front or home page of that other one and there were so many pictures I fell out of my chair from dizziness.

To the left of the page, it has a place to click to build your own, sorry, I don't have any other suggestions, most sites are quite confusing sometimes, but you have to really just read everything they have to offer, just a suggestion.

I am not sure where you are at, but I called Dell and told the agent I wanted a computer that will play the Sims3 and not be the minimum requirements, since I know nothing about computers.  My desktop cost me about $1200 and I also got a laptop for my daughter which was the same price, both came with a 4 year "no matter what happens, it is covered" warranty.  The Sims runs wonderfully and it has beautiful & crisp graphics.  The agent I spoke with even looked up the requirements for the Sims3 so I wouldn't have too.  Since I would be totally confused.  So think of a computer name you like and just call them, tell them what you want (to play Sims3) and hopefully that will work.
Ignorance is not an excuse, please read the forum rules.

Well I appreciate both of you guys help I know the basics how to turn a computer on and off and how to do emails, games, movies, and internet. I spent an hour writing down all the minimum requirements for every type of system it can be written on color coded and everything along with the requirements that are additional for the expansions. I miss the days where things weren't hard and complicated now it is like you need a diploma in robotics or computer engineering just to turn on a computer or television. Sorry for my babbling.
