Okay... everyone(yes, this includes you, Avery) , sorry for the late update. Again, real life trouble a toll and I have to take care of 'em first.
I also have to tell you, this one chapter is made differently than the previous chapters, this one has waaay less pictures in it. Sooo sorry to you who had waited to see more pictures from the Goths, but I hope the story would suffice.
A Chat with Death
Right after the ‘little chat’ with her sister, Agnes decided she had to hurried up to the groceries to shopping for some dinner ingredients.~*~*~*~
That very same time as the shopping trip, a boy had come home from school, a man had come home from work. Soon in the house there is a father is trying to explain to his son about an adult trouble in household.“Now listen carefully to me, son. *take deep breath* There are times in this world when a guy had to take a decision. It might not be the best for everyone, but he will try to take the one that would cause the least hurts to everyone.” Gunther tried to explained, but with no avail one could see his distress trying to find the right words. *sigh* “I know you are always been closer to your aunt Agnes than to your mom.”
“Yeah, that’s because she’s rarely home. And I think I have some ideas why” Mortimer the ever fast mouth kid answering hid dad immediately.
“What?! You...you have some idea... How? What... I mean who did you heard it from?”
“Peoples. Peoples like to gossip you know? Talking behind you?”
“Okay-Okay. Those cheap gossip of the nosy neighbour downtown is not to be cared for though you might get some information there. Anyway, that’s beside the point. What I’m going to tell you is, Agnes is going to live here with us-”
“Isn’t she living with us already?”
“Yea, she is. But I didn’t mean it that way son.” Gunther is in the verge of groaning out loud in frustration over how to bring this up to his son as gently as possible. “I—
“Let me guess! Now that Dad and Mom divorced, both of you two are rebounding as fast as a basketball. Am I supposed to expect a brother or sister too?! One from both of you?!” Mortimer started to seething on his seat. “I know you guys adults are always thinking that we are just a kid. What could we possibly understand about adults business. We are just a kid that just enjoy new toys and always ask our parents to buy us one. NO! What you guys never knew is we noticed. We knew the signs. We just rarely speak about it to our parents!”
“Wha- You- you noticed? You mean you know?” Gunther is truly shocked beyond belief.
“Not fully. At first I was shocked that my auntie that lived apart from us for years –that I practically not know about her– suddenly live with us and taking care of me when mom’s not around, which is most of the time. I really liked her a lot, she is really caring and also a good painter. Then I realized you two had known each other for quite a long time back then.” At this statement Gunther face undoubtly shows a confusion and shock.
“*deep inhale* I did eavesdropping you two at the kitchen one night when I was unable to sleep and I want to ask for a bedtime story”. “Yeah. We, kids are not as oblivious as the adults want us to be. Dad and Auntie Agnes is getting together isn’t it? I guess that’s what dad’s trying to tell me?”
Gunther expression immediately turn sheepish but clearly is glad, “Well yeah... I- I truly have no idea you would be so accepting of this situation-
“What?! Dad, Me knowing about the situation doesn’t make accepting this condition any easier! If anything, it gives me more trouble than what you could imagine!”
“But son, we are not asking you to-
“Yeah. good. You are using the royal ‘WE’. Seems like you finally find your one true love and those mushy stuff. No! It didn’t make me any happier to know that you and mom finally get your own love or the stuffs!”
“Well, I got it you are upset that me and your mom had separated now but, all I’ll ask from you is to give it a chance. You are still one of best thing ever happened in my live and I’m sure also in Agnes’ live. We are not going to force you to accept it right away. But at least think about it, okay?”
“Whatever, Dad. I’m tired. I wanna sleep.”
~*~*~*~
And so, the conversation ended. Leaving a man worrying about his son and kinda happy at the same time thinking of possibility new kids in this household. Then got back at worrying about how this might turn out.
Now, do you think I forgot about Agnes? No. She will have the next update on her point of view.
Do you think Mortimer sounds a bit too old for his age?
Well, I’ll try to explain to my best ability.
I think the reason is it’s because who he is and his family status. People in higher society tends to force their children into a certain behaviour that show their social status, and this influence a lot of those kids personalities. In Mortimer case, he is becoming way more mature than his real age and more bitter about some things like marriage or close relationship with other people.
