Info Regarding Dreaming About Different Personalities
« on: January 16, 2014, 06:41:14 PM »
If you plan to use this dream as it's meant to be used, have your Sim dream it last and do not do any more dreaming until the 12-hour moodlet wears off.

The design of dreaming about different or opposite personalities seems to be to give you half a day to try something different. If you let the moodlet run all the way out, your Sim reverts to his or her previous traits. If, however, you have a dream that affects the same moodlet "slot," lets call it the "skill" slot (there's also a "happiness" slot; you can't stack happiness moodlets! Boo! :-\), the new moodlet overwrites the different personality moodlet and your Sim stays that way and never reverts back to his or her old self!

Of course, if you'd had them dream about an opposite personality, you can just have them do the same thing again. But a different personality is random, so that won't work.

If you decide to use cheat mode to fix it there's an important caution: once you've hit CTRL+SHIFT+C (in my case I also have to hold down the Windows key) and sent the "testingcheatsenabled true" command, be very careful what you do next! Shift+Click your Sim and select "Modify Traits for Active Sim."

Do not select "Edit Sim in Create a Sim." I lost loads of Lifetime Happiness Rewards on my Sim Joe by using this command!

I hope this helps some folks! Enjoy!!  ;D

I would also advise against using the moodlet manager when having these moodlets (even if they are not "negative" they may be affected).

The moodlet manager only erases negative moodlets, so any of the dream moodlets outlined in blue or in red will be cancelled. The ones outlined in green will remain.

So if you get random moodlets through happy dreams (they make the blue smiley faces when the Sim dreams them) and have the "A Whole New You" moodlet, which has a green border, the moodlet manager won't cancel it. If you have the nightmare moodlet "Altered Trait," with a red border, the moodlet manager will cancel it. The green bordered "Doubly Altered Traits" (from normal dreams) is also safe from the moodlet manager.

Let's all observe a moment of silence for the horrors my poor Sim Joe just endured to test this out just now. We salute you Joe!  8)
