My Sim moved out and I can't find her anywhere
« on: November 01, 2013, 04:04:04 AM »
Hello, I need some help. I've been searching for an answer for awhile now, I had a house full. and I want my main sim to have a big family, so I moved out my oldest daughter. And I can't find her anywhere, she's not in my relationship stats or in town. I even went looking for her to house to house, I just want her to be a part of the family with birthdays and parties, etc. Can someone please help me out?

Do you still have the rest of the family? Unfortunately with the console version, once you move someone out, you will permanently lose the rest of the family. It is not like the PC version where you can move a sim out and still have the rest of the family in the neighbourhood. I'm assuming the Xbox version has both move out and kick out options? I played the PS3 version, and both the options made no difference.
I also found that when you move out one sim from the family, and you lose the rest of the family, that they are also removed from your family tree. The only way they stay on your family tree is if the parents die before you move out.

Yes, I still do have my children in the household plus the husband and wife. I got her a boyfriend and moved her out. She was totally gone. Her boyfriend was still at the house and I asked him if he was single and he was, she wasn't even in a relationship with him anymore. I'm pretty upset, just makes me want to switch to PC forever :P

It's pretty confusing, the interface you get on console for moving them out. I could never work of why there was a kick out or move out option, as they both do the same thing anyway. Just makes you think you can keep the families. Can you go back to a previous save before you split up the family, and at least move out the young adult so you can play her? You'll lose the rest of the family, but at least you'll have the young adult.
I always found it hard on console to decide who to keep when moving someone out. I always felt sad when the rest of the family just disappeared :(
I've recently switched to PC and I love that I can still have the rest of my family in the town when I move out a young adult, and go and visit them etc.

EA thinks console gamers are too dumb for a game as complicated as The Sims, so they dumbed it down big time. None of the console versions support multiple families. TS3 appears to at first glance, but absolutely does not. Leaving a sim behind when moving out or kicking a sim out erases them from existence. No past, present, or future. Just gone. The only NPC sims allowed to exist are EA's NPC sims.

Awwwe, that is upsetting. my oldest girl is gone?! :( well I will most defiantly have to join PC, I might as well just keep my three children home forever. Till the Parents die of old age, I don't even want that either. Haha, But it's life right? Thanks for the answers, I was keeping my Hopes that i can get her back. But oh well, PC it is :P

Console is okay, but PC is far better, as there's so much more you can do it on. I got excited over simple things on PC like being able to make THREE saved outfits for each clothing category, and the fact you can edit the whole town and make your own townies (or edit the existing townies), build all the houses and make your own parks etc. Oh, and the fact if one sim goes to the park, for example, the other sims continue doing what they are doing. Not like on the console when you'd leave them all reading skill books or something, but as soon as you left, they'd stop doing it and just be standing around doing nothing.

Be careful, Nicki, because with the PC version, there's all the expansion packs and stuff packs! I always put off getting the PC version because I didn't think our desktop would run it properly, as it's old by computer standards, but it works fine.
