Can't get sims to watch my sim play the Laser Rhythm-a-con

I've been trying to earn the legacy statue for the laser instrument but I can't get the 10 people required to watch you play in the present. I've tried playing in several locations around town but so far the I've only had two sims to watch him play. My sims wife and daughter when he played at home.
The town I'm playing in is Midnight Hollow.

I posted this on another thread about tips for this, but I'll answer here too. I was having the same issue until I tried changing up my Sims traits a little. Natural Born Performer seemed to help with this a good bit. The trait's description says that it helps draw a crowd, and it seemed to help here too. Irresistible seems to help too since it makes other Sims want to socialize with you. I haven't done a lot of testing on it, but having one or both seem to help getting the 10 watchers for the Legacy statue.

maybe your sim just sucks at playing it so nobody wants to listen

I finally got it. I had to drop another big park in town and when I played there I got the views that I needed in just a few minutes.
