there is the Coastal House that has like 35 life plants growing on it right from the start of the game.

That is awfully good to know!  I'll have to go and loot them as soon as I can plant them.

There is also a deathfruit bush in one of the cemetaries.

I didn't see one in the cemeteries, but I did find one in that park where you one of the two groups of seed respawns are (I think it's Lookout Point, but it might be the other one).  It's between the busted up rowboat and a tree.

The problem is that there are no other special seeds available.

So what's left then:  Flame Fruit and Money Tree?  Plasma Fruit is probably a special, too.  For my dynasty, I won't even care about Plasma Fruit as, from what I hear, non-vampire sims can't use them and consume the product without getting sick (and from what I can tell, you get 3 fruit in the mail when you become a vampire, anyways).  And Flame Fruit I can get in Egypt.

But no Money Tree will be a real heart breaker.  Generation 2 is slated to max fishing, so with any luck I can catch a break there.

While playing one of the challenges in Barnacle Bay, I discovered how we get money tree seeds!  One of the Gardening opportunities asks you to bring some produce to the grocery store or restaurant.  In exchange you will be given plantable produce.  I got a money tree seed as one of the plantable items.  I don't remember getting a money tree seed in the other towns for an opportunity like this.  I'm thinking that maybe EA put this special opportunity in Barnacle Bay for the express purpose of providing a money tree seed because there are none to be found anywhere on the island.

There is a tomb, I think in Egypt, that has flame fruit bushes in it. That's how my Barnacle Bay resident finally got his hand on some. The tomb is called Pyramid of the Burning Sands. One tomb in Egypt also has a death flower bush in the end. I don't play money trees so I have not been actively looking for those seeds.

I think there are Flame Fruit bushes somewhere in Barnacle Bay, too.  Seems like I remember the only thing we couldn't find was Money Tree seeds when it first came out.

Do you remember where? Because I've been looking but haven't been able to find any. Only life fruit.

Sorry to resurrect this thread after almost 3 years, but I'm talking about special seeds in Barnacle Bay, and I thought posting in this thread was better than starting a new one.

I am trying an immortal dynasty in Barnacle Bay, and I decided to try a few different things to get special seeds from virtually the get go (apart from death seeds and life seeds).

I have so far done the following:-

- Placed the stone throws greenhouse (store item with some premium content) down on the town.
- Gotten a green baby dragon (premium item)
- Placed two x quick grow stations and 2 x farmer stands (both premium items) on my homelot

- I went to the greenhouse on the first day, and looked at the seeds, no special seeds only common/uncommon/rare seeds. My dragon harvested all the plants there, and then did the same at the Coastals House (life plants).

- I returned to the greenhouse on Monday of week three, there are some special seeds there now. Also, there are some special seeds on my home lot. They appear to be coming less frequently for me at home in Barnacle Bay then at other towns

- I don't know what I was expecting to do with the dragon, but on re-reading the dragon, he doesn't seem to be designed to help with getting extra special seeds, and I had misread him.

- I have collected 5 (I think) unknown special seeds and planted them. At least one of these seeds is going to be a money tree. I also planted one of the life fruits harvested from the coastals as well as the death flower harvested from that distant small park.

- I haven't really even looked at the farmers' market stand.

What I intend to do next
- See if my witch can use his conversion ritual to get special seeds that way.

I've gotten special seeds from the Conversion Ritual. Thanks for sharing your results! It could be more hopeless. :)

Right then, I've just finished my seed hunting mission to the Stone Throws Greenhouse on Monday of week 3. I completed the mission with the following results
- 32 unknown special seeds
- 21 unknown rare seeds
- 21 unknown uncommon seeds
- A number of named common seeds
- 1 named money tree seed

The five special seeds I mentioned earlier were from my two home based quick grow stations. So, I think that perhaps the greenhouse operates at the standard rate in Barnacle Bay compared to elsewhere. I'm fairly certain I've had more special seeds in the first three weeks from my home quick grow stations than 5.

A second of the five special seeds are growing up into money trees, and at least one of the seeds from the greenhouse will be a money tree, so provided you have the greenhouse and put it down in Barnacle Bay, you can get most/all of the special seeds fairly early on.

I'm still to try the conversion ritual method.

Also, my little green dragon when he called treasure for me last time, he called down a goldfish, so maybe green dragons can call down special seeds as well. That seems like something else to test For Science!
