Can Neighbors Steal Your Crops?

When I first started playing Sims 3 I read somewhere that npcs might steal from your gardens, including from money trees, so I've been fencing and locking my gardens ever since.

Is that even true? Has anyone ever stolen from your garden?

In my experience I have never had something stolen.  I have never fenced/gated my gardens.  If it did happen then I never noticed.

I've never had a townie / NPC  steal produce from the garden either, LlamaMama.

Well, the last time I played a "major" gardening sims, a fat old man walked up and ate some life fruit right from his plant! The maids would do that too. This was pre-ambitions, and it got so bad that I had to use "moveobjects" on and make a locked basement garden. I haven't heard of anyone else experiencing this problem though. I hope this helps!

Wow lucky! I have never had that happen! That's unfortunate. The only ones that have harvested my stuff is the sim I tell to.
