Hi everyone
When you go into CAS, you have the option to ''Save to Bin'' - I have done this with a few sims. I found them in the SavedSims part of my EA>TheSims3 folder, but my question is, how does this work?  How do I revive them, so that if it dies, I can bring a new one and have the ghost (if thats possible).
Also, does everything carry on as normal in one save file whilst you're on another one? (I have one save on Epic, the other on Normal, I understand they'll both be on Normal, but whilst I am on my second save, will anything happen in the first one, or is it paused?)
Thanks alot!!

Solstice,

I've had (more by accident than intent) three versions of the same "Sim" in a household: a ghost, an elder, and a young adult. They all had the same names, traits, and so on; they were the same "Sim" but the game had no troubles. I did end up changing hair styles just so their mini-portraits were easier to tell apart, but the game wasn't confused in the slightest.

I suspect saved Sims / Sims in the "Sim Bin" are simply assigned a number or value by the game, and that's how the "game" keeps track of them. I don't see why (for instance, other than to deliberately cause yourself confusion) you couldn't park multiple copies of a family into a "town" you are playing. The game's not using the Sim's "names" to keep track of them, it's using unique identifiers it most likely generates when they are placed into the town.

Very interesting stuff!

I had no idea that the game saved copies of your sims in CAS.  That info would have come in handy!  There have been a few times when I've made a sim, and then realized I should have given them a different trait, so I'd have to start over with a different Sim when I really like the way the first one looked.  Learn something new every day with this game!

When you upload Sims or Households it saves them to the Library or Sim bin, so I have about four tonnes of Character Famillies!  :D
