Taking screenshots with the interface on?
« on: July 11, 2010, 12:52:07 PM »
I'm trying to capture the map with markers on but when I take screenshots (c) the interface, including the markers is hidden.  I know it must, at some point at least, have been possible because the guide has maps with the interface on. I also tried doing print screen but when I pasted it into photoshop it was black.

The Prima guide says, "Taking a screenshot strips out the user interface by default." I would assume this means that you can go to the options and have it set to where the UI will show up in screenshots. Have you tried that?

I tried the show/hide selection in the options and it made no difference, I don't know if thats a new bug they introduced or if it was only intended to work for video capture.

In that case, I have no idea what to do. Sorry, I've never been one to take many screenshots.

I've had success with using Print Screen and pasting it into MS Paint.

I've also been able to use Print Screen and MS Paint.

I use Fraps for anything I need to do like that. Great program. Run it, set what key you want to take screenshots with and voila. It records videos too, but with a watermark unregistered.

I have found that using print screen works when the Sims is in windowed mode rather than in full screen mode, if that helps.
