Sims 3 Started to lag alot after expansions

So my story is when I first installed the Sims 3, the game ran smoothly. Then installed all the Sims expansions except Movie Stuff and Supernatural. Now it's lagging a lot. I can even barely play the game, it's so annoying. I saw the topic What to do if Your Game Slows Down. In the topic it says that you need to delete all files from DCBackup exce[t the ccmerged.package and for me it's the only file that is in that folder. There are no other files but the ccmerged.package so there is nothing to delete for me. I also deleted the compositorCache CASPartCache, scriptCache simCompositorCache, but there was still a lot of lag. I don't know what to do anymore. The game base Sims 3 game was so fun to play. But now after the expansions I can't play the game anymore because of the lag.

My pc:

8 gb ram

intel core i7 2600 3.40 ghz

64 bit operating system

nvidia geforce gtx 570

And I have nrass, relativity, and overwatch (which I don't know how to use).

Welcome to our Forum.

It's normal for the game to start lagging after installing many expansions.  The game needs more and more resources to continue running properly.  I suggest you try some more things on our Technical Help board, such as running in windowed mode, factory reset, and even possibly a full reinstall.

As for the mods, you could try removing them and see if it helps.  Also, why do you have a mod that you don't know how to use?

because i thought that the mod will help reduce the lag ;/ but it didin't

i will try to do the factory reset and see if it helps

i tried the factory reset and the lag still is.Any ideas what i should do next?

Your computer specs are really good, so your lag problems cannot be caused by them being too low/weak for the game.

I have tried Factory Reset a couple of times too, but it didn't make any difference at all. There is still a slight lag here and there, but it's not so bad that I can't play.

You could always try the NVA method, that's what I always do if I experience more than usual amounts of lag and/or freezes. I describe it in more detail in this thread, in reply nr 5. And so far it has been very effective and made it possible to play certain lagging/freezing worlds, instead of having to give up on them altogether.

right know i only have four expansions.The university life,Pets,Showtime,Seasons i played last night with the four expansions and the lag was almost complete.But today i played and the lag got alot bigger ;/so i guess there is something that messes up the town, or sims i don't know.


I tried do find the TravelDB.package but i can't.I guess TravelDB.package is with world adventures expansion which i no longer have?

No, the TravelDB.package files are not limited only to World Adventures. There is a TDB file in every save file. Look in My documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves, and then in one of the save files. But you don't have to delete them if they are small, because that's not going to make any difference to your game. I explain what a TDB file is in reply nr 10 in the link I gave you in my previous post. If you have memories switched off the TDB files will remain small, and don't cause any trouble, at least not that I know of.

they are about 50 mb size so i guess i don't need to delete them.Right know i am using using the overwatch mod and it makes the game lag a lot less.So i guess i almost fixed the problem
