Okay, now I'm getting close to the point where I have to throw my computer out of the window and jump out behind it. The 'wheel of bugs in Sims 3' reeled me one fishing related bug this time. This is one of those little but game breaking ones. And its annoyance and unavoidability makes it mind breaking.
On with the mumble: My Sim can't Fish in old pier beach. I put him standing just in the front of the shoal of fish next to the pier and tried to fish from it, but after the action is set, the Sim just stands idle and the action goes off. No balloon appears or anything else, just nothing and it's gone. The problem is the same in all of the shoals in that particular beach. The Sim just runs next to them and then nothing.
However, I can fish very close to the shore, where there aren't any visible fish (I didn't catch any fish though, don't know if it's just too rare, or a bug also). That would make it seem that my Sim just can't "reach" those further away spots, but oddly, one time I actually managed to fish from one of the "F's" (
link) in that beach (can't remember which one) while standing on the fore mentioned spot! Now that's some long line! So the distance isn't maybe the problem. But I just hope this isn't some "feature" from the Island Paradise shipped with the patch also, where I have to buy a boat or something to fish on sea.
IIRC I haven't had this problem anywhere else in Sunset Valley, and I've fished almost everywhere. But hey, actually I do remember I went fishing to the beach next to Summerhill Mansions (don't know what it's called in the English Version) but I didn't ever start it, just went straight home. I can't remember why, anymore, maybe for the same reason. I haven't tried fishing in "Wolff Mansion beach" (again...) though.
I tried to search for this, but all I found were threads about difficulties with fishing with bait. And this isn't the issue here, as changing to lure didn't help (would it really help even if it did..).
