Light flashing police car in front of house

Hi there,

After getting familiar with the game (with lots of help from this site, thank you), I enabled stories.  My Sim almost got crushed by a huge rock and lost all but 4 of her perfect garden plants.  So I decided to move sooner in a better house since the garden had to be redone.  I chose to move the Wolff family elsewhere and installed my Sim on that beautiful lot.

A couple of hours after moving a policeman came knocking at the door - no idea what was said - he never came back but the patrol car with lights flashing is permanently on the street, back of car facing house, in front of house.  Now she's had a baby and when he aged up to toddler a second police car with lights flashing is parked in front of the first one.

No interaction is available with the cars.  Traffic simply go through them.  Does not seem to affect anything but is annoying.

Does someone know anything about this?  And, wondering if each knew family member will result with another police car?

Welcome to our Forum.

I haven't had that happen to me specifically, but I would suggest you try deleting the cars using testing cheats.  With testing cheats enabled, you should be able to select each car and delete it.

Hi Pam,

I control+shift+C and wrote testingcheatsenabled after entering the game in question and in buy mode.  I may have done it wrong.  If not, it did not work.

If you're not opposed against using mods, you could download Nraas' Overwatch and Traffic mods. These mods will delete all inactive cars in the game, so it's likely they'll delete the police car too.
I don't think there's a solution without using mods.

You need to type testingcheatsenabled true and then shift-click on a car and then it will say object(s) and when you click that it should say delete it. I hope this helped, maybe I just misunderstood and you did all that?
I've noticed few police cars just staying there in front of some parks (a lot of them actually), they don't bother me much but I managed to delete few of them with testingcheats.
