    World 1-Level 0
    Begin Game?

    Loading........

I'm not......I'm not entirely sure what's going on right now.
    Mostly I want a banana.
But I also kind of want an explanation.
I look around for the tutorial guide, or the player, and see none. I turn to look for DK; he's gone too.
I start to panic a little bit. Thinkaboutbananasthinkaboutbananashappythoughtshappythoughtshapoythoughts.
I try to remember the last thing that happened to me.
At first, my memories are fuzzy and disoriented, like I'm seeing them from two points of view. It takes me a minute, but I begin to sort through them.
I remember watching through the screen as we got booted up for the first time in years. DK was in a new tie as he sat in his cage, and our version of Mario looked primed and ready. I had begun to do my warm up exercises when the hum began.
As a video game character, I am all too used to the hum of electronics. But this one...this one was like a thousand bees with megaphones in an amphitheater. It came from everywhere and nowhere, ominous and creepy.
One of the things very few people know about me-I'm actually very intelligent. However, I've found that it's easier to sift through your thoughts instead of trying to express them, so I tend to keep quiet. Diddy talks enough for both of us, anyway.
My name's Junior, by the way. Donkey Kong Junior.
I remember seeing hundreds of other arcade characters pressed up against their screens, trying to see what was going on. We clearly weren't in an arcade, so it seemed normal arcade rules-such as acting your part-didn't apply.Mario had already let Dad out of his cage so they could check what was going on, with me loping behind.
We were in a room with thousands upon thousands of coin operated, old fashioned, retro arcade games. The most I could gather was that each game was plugged into a huge wire, but what that wire was plugged into, I couldn't tell.
That was when we three started to feel it. The sucking. The vacuum. The huge gravitational feeling that slowly pulled apart my home game, pixel by pixel, world by world.
Dad swung me on his back to first chance he got, leaving Mario to fend for himself. I didn't look back as we clambered though the levels, fruitlessly trying to avoid the pull of the whatever.
The last thing I remember is squeezing my eyes shut when we got to the last level.
I finally open them, terrified of what I'll see. Am I dead? Genuinely, truly, absolutely dead?
A car zooms past me, covering me with exhaust fumes. I cough and splutter my way to edge of the road, dizzy with sensations.
A sign on the opposite side of the highway proclaims: APPALOOSA PLAINS in large letters. The [aint on the sign is peeling.
I look down, fascinated, at what are flesh and blood hands.
It appears that I have become a real boy.

"Hey, boss! Da heck's going on?!"
I recognize the New York accent and sigh. "Hello, Nyamco." The villain of Mappy glares back at me from the ground.
"Sup, Jun-your." He draws out the syllables. "Now, again--wair are we?"  His tail lashes back and forth in agitation.
I shrug, and he glares at me some more.

Suddenly,a large yellow car pulls up out of nowhere. Nyamco screeches and runs behind me. The window rolls down, and a man tips his hat. "Need a ride?"
There's a lot I don't know about the real world, but economics isn't one of them. "I don't have any money, sir."
The man chuckles. "Trust me-you have money. About 1,800 simoleans, am I right? We got the notification this morning about a founder coming in. So what are you doing? Immortal Dynasty? 4x4 Dynasty? legacy challenge?"
"Um. What?"
Nyamco scratches my ear. "Shut it, nimrod! Accept the free money!"
I gape at him. "But....it's not ours."
The driver adjusts his mirror. "Are you talking to the cat?"
Nyamco and I exchange a look. "Possibly?"
The rest of the trip is spent in silence.

I am dropped off at City Hall. The building is cold and my footsteps echo off the marble walls. Nyamco is silent as he cowers in my arms.
A disinterested secretary points me to the mayors office. When I step in, the mayor is reading the newspaper as a red haired woman looks over his shoulder. They both look up when I step into the room.
The woman grins. "Oh, hello! You're the new founder!" She pulls a pen and pad of paper out of nowhere. "Can you talk to the Watcher? Oo, and are you trying to prove something to your parents? Or were one of your parents in a dynasty, but then it failed, so now it's up to you? Or-"
"Alouette!" The man snaps. "Calm down. Give the man a chance to breath."
I mentally thank the man.
The woman-Alouette-sighs. "Fine. I'm out, then." Before she leaves, she adds, "I'll interview you eventually." The door makes a harsh clack as it closes.
The man smiles indulgently. "Sorry about that. Alouette works for the local paper; she's been in here all morning waiting for you to show up. Appaloosa doesn't get many immortal dynastys." He gestures to the chait in front of him.
I sit gingerly. "I'm not entirely sure what that is, Mr.....Bedlington." I finally notice his nameplate. I stroke Nyamco's fur absentmindedly.
He nods. "That does seem to happen sometimes." He opens a drawer behind his desk and pulls out a book. "Here. Read up. In the meantime, I'll need to get you and your pet licensed up."
He proceeded to take our pictures.

DK Junior Arcadia was the name I choose for myself.

I read while assorted 'sims' tried to get Nyamco to stand still for his picture. Information about the Watcher, skills, ambrosia, and so, so much more filled my brain while the cat caused a general panic. They finally got him to sit still by promising catnip.

Mr. Bedlington showed me the deed to the biggest lot in town, already written out in my name. I was dropped off there by another taxi, and promptly felt a menu open.

I am a video game character, and well aware of it. I believe this is the reason I am capable of feeling menus and clicks and ques. I could also feel the 'wish' roll to join a culinary career. I have decided on cooking as my supermax, and as such, an trying to wish for things relating to that. I'm not entirely sure what will happen when I accomplish this 'Immortal Dynasty', but it can't hurt.

Items are bought and placed. They will get us through the first few days.

I go back to town to register for a job and learn more about this strange place. It is there that I see her again.

"Alouette, right?"
She grins widely. Her teeth are straight and white. "Hey hey, Dee-Kay! Mind if I do that interview now?"
"I suppose not."
She laughs. "I like you."

We talk for what seems like hours. She gives me some tips based on dynasty research; I take her advice.

I spend the time between waking up and going to work supermaxing. Nyamco practices hunting. I often hear him muttering under his breath about 'stupid mouse; think you can take my stuff back?! I stole that fair and square!' The catnip mouse then receives a solid trouncing.

Also, this horse.

It seems to show up every morning and watch us, or trot around the perimeter of the lot for a few hours. Then it races off, only to return at 8 am.

I can't tell if I should shoo it away or let it roam. If it's good or evil. What it's purpose is.

I'll get back to you when I figure it out.

When I saw the red kitty, I thought oh no he's bleeding animal abuse that's weird. Good luck with your attempt! Hopefully it's winning!

I know I said that I would get back to you when I figured out the horse thing, but I had ind of a bad day, and the cat offers no sympathy.

You see, first I met this strange fellow:

And made the assumption that he was actually a she.

He promptly left.

I spent my morning exploring the town, until this rude woman decided to start interrogating me about my Dynasty requirements.

It got me thinking though. About my requirements. One of which is producing an heir.
So, I invited Alouette over.

Nyamco gave her a thorough once over before letting me talk to her.

"She's good." He announced, before going back to hunting.

So, I gave modern romance a shot.

Aaaaand then got smacked in the face.

I slept until morning, and spent my time cooing or gardening; only to learn that I was supposed to be at work. (A new, confusing concept.)

Now for the worst/semi-good part.
Nyamco had convinced me to buy a shower and construct a structure of sorts.

It was quite useful when the sun set me on fire.

My new goal is to find enough money for an official shelter. Stupid sun.

Interesting theme for an Immortal Dynasty! I'm a big fan of video games myself.  ;D
I play The Sims 4 for fun, so I don't care if I never end up being interviewed for the Dynasty Hall of Fame; people who play for keeps burn out too easily and don't enjoy playing the games, so I am going to not sweat the details.

I have had a severe increase in workload. I won't be able to keep up with this story and the Fronds. Apologies.

NOTE:

I was planning to use Donatello, (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,) Tetris, (Tetris,) Pac-Man, (Pac-Man,) Frogger, (Frogger,) Maggie, (The Simpsons, circa 1991), and Bowser as gens 2-8, respectively.
