How Do You Fix Sim Relationships?
« on: August 02, 2013, 08:08:51 PM »
Hello, I'm new to the forums and I'd like some help on sim relationships:P

My female sim named Shamika recently married a male named Dejuan. A female was living in the household. Her name was Blossom. I had made Shamika go get a job since we were poor. While she was out getting a job, Blossom had started talking to Dejuan. After she chatted with Dejuan, she started flirting. Since they were almost friends, he had accepted. After a few compliments and pick-up lines, she kissed him (Heat Of The Moment Kiss)! I sent Shamika home after I had found her a job with high salary. Blossom was still flirting with Dejuan. Shamika had saw and accused him of cheating. After that, Shamika would always reject everything Dejuan did. From talking to asking a question, everything he did, she'd reject. I don't want them to break up since they had JUST got married.

How do I fix this mess?! I hate family drama in The Sims 3.  :(

I hate it when stuff like this happens as well!

If you have Supernatural, go to the alchemy store and buy a flask of potent friendship. That's the quickest way to get a good relationship back.

If you don't, just make Shamika do friendly socials with Dejuan until they are good friends again. A bit time consuming though. As Shamika was the wronged, she'll reject advances until they have a better relationship.

If you're not opposed to a little bit of cheating here and there, you could just use testingcheats and drag the relationship bar as high as it will go. That's the quickest and easiest way to do it. :)

Also, consider moving Blossom out of the house asap, if you don't want the whole thing to happen again.

Thanks for replying! I will kick out Blossom soon, but since they live in Isla Paradiso, almost every lot is worth a lot of money so I will do that soon. I'm just worried that Shamika's moodlet betrayed will end and she will divorce Dejuan. I'm not cheating in this one. So please help me get their relationship up again!  :(

If I were you, I'd get rid of Blossom completely.  Use edit town and evict her.  If you must keep her, she will have normal starting cash so you could place her in her own small home as far as possible away from your couple.  If you keep Blossom in town, she is likely to keep visiting and phoning which will make it harder to rebuild the couples relationship

To start repairing the relationship I would make Shamika ask Dejuan to join her doing something passive (hot tub, watch TV etc.) to start, and make sure they eat together. Also, if you don't already have the "attractive" and "eye candy" rewards, can you afford the points to take them?  They can really boost relationship building.

The easiest and cheapest way to get Blossom out of the house is to have her use the phone to Move, and select Kick Out.  She will find an empty home somewhere in town and it won't cost you anything.

I agree with the others about doing just friendly interactions for awhile.  Even take one or two Sim days with no interaction at all.  There needs to be a cooling down period.  Then you can rebuild their relationship.

I wouldn't try just letting our sims cool off. In my experience this causes the wronged sim to decide the relationship won't work and divorce the wife/husband. It's happened to me more than once. Go with a LOT of friendly interactions for a day or two, then ask out on a date. It's pretty easy after that.

I've haven't been playing on that game for a while. I'm still finding ways to get their relationship back up. Their relationship is in red!

It has been my experience that friendly interactions are rejected and only decrease the relationship further.  There's a point where the wronged Sim just doesn't want to have anything to do with the other Sim.  Even if there's a break up, the relationship can be salvaged and they can remarry.

Well guys, they have divorced. :(

It doesn't have to be permanent.  Like I said above, you can have them start from the beginning and get them back to a romantic relationship and marriage.

I know it's probably too late now since your guys already had their divorce, but wouldn't it be easier if you initiated the interactions with Shamika? I mean, she can't possibly reject her own actions, can she? I don't have much experience with such relationship problems, but I'd suppose this would be easier. Also, maybe group activities may help - like playing chess or whatever.

I'm only left with Shamika and Shamika's child in the household. Dejuan and Blossom got married and moved out because Shamika is apparently NOT in the mood to do anything with her ex. If Dejuan's on the same lot as Shamika, She would ignore him but Dejuan would always talk to her. ):

Are you wanting the original couple back together?  Is it that you want the child to be with its parents or does it mater?

What you do depends on what you want.  I don't know if Blossom can be invited to move in and can she bring Dejuan with her.  Then you can kick Shamika out and she will be leaving the child behind.
You can also buy the clean slate reward and see if that will help.  I had a couple get the cheating moodlet that just popped up, he hadn't even been near the other female he  just went to the store and came home.  They had a great relationship before he left.  Then, it was cheating claim and the dagger.  She wouldn't let him come near her and she cried all the time.

I did have to use the cheat, which I felt was fair due to he hadn't done anything.  She was an elder and supposed to be married to his brother (who was a YA) but they were living in different houses.

As for real cheating, that will take time but it can be done.  Unless you want the original couple together, just stay with Blossom and Dejuan
