Gold Digger bug?

I created a family of 4, and started playing. Of course one of my sims had the gold digger lifetime wish. Well, I went up to the Alto Family, and started making them my friends. I flirted enough with Vita Alto, and I got her to break up with Nick Alto, then I made her my girlfriend. Nick hated me. Anyways, I invited Holly Alto to my house, and starved her to death, because I thought the money she had would be split for Nick and Vita Alto. Then I invited Nick to my house and tried to starve him, but he just wouldnt die! So I burned the room down with him in it. Then it was only Vita left. I married her, and chose my house (which is pretty darn nice btw ) to the house I was going to live in. Vita only had like 20,000 simoleons, but her house was worth like 270,000 simoleons. Well, I pressed sell house and sell furniture, so that I would get totally rich!! Well, I didn't get rich. I got the 20k simoleons from Vita, but the money I should have gotten from the house, well, I never got them. I then got so angry that I killed Vita by drowning her, and got my lifetime wish. But what I really want to know, is: What happened to the 270,000 simoleons that I should have gotten?

This isn't really a Gold Digger Glitch, it is a moving house glitch which sounds pretty unfair, if you did accidentally pick pack furniture it will be family storage thing and you can sell it from there, otherwise I don't know.

Let me see if I understand this correctly.  When you married Vita Alto, you chose to live in your existing house instead of moving into the Alto Mansion with Vita.  I'm not entirely sure that you would get the cash for her house anyway.  You'd get more money for selling the furniture, but I'm not certain that you would get the value of the house.  I think maybe Vita would just move out of it and leave it.

Well, thanks for the help everyone. I still think it's pretty dumb, though. Now no one lives in the house. Vita was the only one left living in the house, which means she owned it. Then she sold the house to move in with me, but she didn't get the money for selling the house, which again means I didn't get the money for the house. Makes no sense, but I guess I can use the money cheat, even though cheats makes the game boring.
