Really slow rendering

In my game, all the objects take ages to get any texture - they show up as a weird light grey for over a minute before getting any texture. Sometimes they don't even appear for a while, especially if I've just placed them in buy mode. Does anyone know why this is, and what I can do to fix it? Thanks  :)

That happens sometimes in my game too, but it doesn't last more than 1-2 seconds. It probably depends on how fast and powerful your computer is. What processor and graphics card do you have?

It sounds like a graphics card issue to me.  It might be time to consider an upgrade.  I've got a pretty powerful one and I still sometimes get that same rendering problem.

I upgraded my graphics card last year to a fairly good model, but I can't remember what it's called. I'll try lowering the settings and see if that helps. Thanks for your help!  :D
