If you go to my documents/electronic arts/the sims 3/installed worlds, do you see Monte Vista there? If it is there, there is a work-around that may work to make it show up.

I'm glad that you were able to get it working.  I really like that town, except for the small lots and very little room to place more lots.  But the residents are fun people and the atmosphere makes it so enjoyable that I overlook the negatives of it. 

Can't have a perfect world, will always have something that you don't like.  Just have to hope the positives outweigh the negatives.

Eventually, someone here will be able to help with the problem and come up with an answer.
