How to move out a sim/s then put them in a new game slot.
« on: July 18, 2013, 03:10:38 PM »
I have a family of 8 and want to keep some of the children and keep playing them, but I obviously cant because the house is at full capacity. So my plan is to just move out the ones I don't want (some of the kids were unplanned and boring) and let the game play out their lives. Then I want to marry off the children I want to keep and move them out and then into another town and move them into another game slot (I don't know if thats the technical term or not). By game slot I mean when you start the game you click on which family you want to play. I want to take a married couple from one of the familys and move them to their own slot. How do I do that?

The only Sims you can move out have to be YA or older, or you could move out younger ones as long as an adult is with them.

1. Move your Sim(s) to a different house in the same town. (If you try to use the option that came with IP, you can only move the whole family.
2. Go to Edit town as soon as they've settled. Click on that house and choose Evict.
3. Your Sim will appear on a clipboard on the left. Choose to add him to the library.

Go back to your game, or Save and Exit.

To play the Sim in a new game, start the new game, and choose "Move in household." The sim(s) you added to the library should be available.

I have a sim named Draco and I want to move him and his boyfriends Pip out together and then into a new game slot. I can't move in Pip because I already have 8 sims in my house. I don't want to move Draco over to Pips house beacuse then I would have to switch active households and I dont know how to do that and don't know if that'll mess up my game play. So do you know of anyway to have them move out of their houses together into another house? Or a way to move Draco to Pips and change the active households? (I've never changed active households before so I don't know how that works)

When you change the active household, the game takes over the lives of your current household.  That's all that happens.  You can change the active household in the Edit Town.  You could go into Edit Town and on your current household, split sims.  Take Draco out and then click on Draco's portrait on the left and click on Pip's house to merge them.  After that is done, click on Pip's house and choose to make it active.

So if I take Draco out of his house and move him in with Pips, can I then take Pip and Draco out of thier house and move them to the library so that I can start a new game with them?

Would I have to change active households to remove pip and draco from their house?

No.  From Edit Town, click on their house and you have the option to copy them to the library.  Once they are in the library as a household, then you can start a new game and move them in there.
