Driver Enquiry

Anyone know where I can get a most recent Driver update for the AMD HD Radeon 7660G? I have tried to find one via AMD, but there is none available and when I found one via Toshiba (as that is the brand of my laptop), in order for me to update the drivers I have to pay for the driver tool which I refuse to do.

EA support told me that my driver is outdated and that is most likely why I am having crashing issues. Here is my DXdiag for anyone who wants to see:

Hello my friend,

Thank you for the assistance and although I really appreciate the research, I have already tried this one. I get an error message saying that the version of my graphics driver is not supported. I can't find a free download for my driver anywhere. It's frustrating. So, I am either going to have to cut out Sims 3 all together, or deal with the issue. Not sure which one I want to do more.

Well, rats. I'm sorry. Though I did some more research and found this -

Looks like the driver was updated or posted Oct.17.2013. So I'm thinking at least somewhat new?  It appears this driver is free. Just tried to download it to my hard drive. And it was allowing me to save.

Have you tried this one yet?

Okay, so I just download that and it installed just fine. I got no error messages, but when I did the dxdiag, it showed the same version it has always shown. I am not sure why it won't update. I even restarted my computer. Then ran the dxdiag again....still nothing. I am getting so frustrated and thinking that I will not be able to play in Isla Paradiso until I can afford to get a new laptop

Shoot I'm sorry that didn't work for you. I was really hoping it would.

I was talking with Hubby today about computer manufactureres seeming to be stingy with their support of drivers. He said it's not so much being stingy, but they stop supporting them rather quickly. Especially if there's a newer version already on the market. And some do lock out the "generic" AMD/nVidia drivers from working.

No need to apologize, my friend. I very much appreciate all the help you have both offered thus far. Please, if you find or think of anything else that might help, I am all ears. I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing the IP expansion hoping that will make a difference. I will let you know how it turns out.
