Sims 3 - How do I Use Buydebug?

Hey everyone!
I just got the sims 3 a few days ago and can't figure out buydebug.
I have used testingcheatsenabled true then enter then bring it up again then type buydebug. I tried buydebug on, I tried doing it in buy mode, how do I do it? I just got unknown command...thanks.

press the return key
Open the cheats panel again
type: buydebug
press the return key
Go into buy mode and select the function button and you'll see the ? That's where all of the buydebug items are available.

It still doesn't work. Will it work with only the base game? Thanks.

I'm not sure what's going on, Jenny. I use it all the time for challenge testing purposes and Guide articles I need to knock out quickly and I have all expansions installed.

EDIT: My only other thought is if you haven't completely shut down and restarted, then do so. You never know—that sometimes clears up weird glitches. So, do that, fire up your game, and type in my stuff listed above. Should work (fingers crossed).

Open the cheats panel again
type: buydebug

No, the code is "buydebug on". If you can't get it to work, try to type it again. I'm fairly certain it should work even without EP's.
Also, remember again that you can only see the ? if you sort by function, and that the cheat panel disappears when the cheat works (easy mistakes here).

Hey, guys, since I'm only able to play Vanilla Sims 3, I can't use the cheat at all either. I tried captilization, all three versions of 'buydebug' turning on keys (buydebug, buydebug true, and buydebug on), and restarting the game...A few times.  Dose anyone have a idea of what's going on? it's pached to 1.6, if that helps.

Yep, Testing's on, and I can do those shift click cheats...I've not tried any other Testing cheats though. It makes me sad, I wanted to make random plants everywhere.

I'm pretty sure buydebug came around with World Adventures and was not available in the base game.  If it was available in the base game, the cheat code was not made aware to the public until WA was released.

Here are the exact steps I use for Buydebug:

1. Press together - Ctrl-Shift-C
2. Type testingcheatsenabled true
3. Press Enter
4. Press together again, Ctrl-Shift-C
5. Type buydebug
6. Press Enter
7. Click on Buy Mode and look for the question mark tab circled in red in the screenshot below

After you do the 'testingcheatsenabled true' part and do the Ctrl-Shift-C again then type 'help' in the window.  If you do not see 'buydebug' in the list then that cheat is not available for you to use in the game. 
That cheat was added with World Adventures as it shows all of the tomb objects and spawners for use in the different worlds so you can make your own tombs and such.

Aww, don't despair TollingBells. If it does indeed have something to do with the patching, then have you tried to patch your basegame to the latest one (1.14.11) ?

It's patch 1.0, my bad.However, my mother's gonna let me install both expansions. That'll probably fix 'er up.

Joria, you're probably right. Still, it lists it in the entire list of cheats for the Sim Wiki. Maybe Carl can make a note of it in the guides?

Pam, Mtglady, I know how to do it.   I just couldn't do it with the base game. Sad stuff.
