Glitch with speakers in resorts?
« on: July 13, 2013, 01:42:49 PM »
I get so annoyed with the stupid employees AND the guests all screaming or at least having the red circle with a line through it icon over the public speakers at the resort.  Does anyone know if this is a glitch or not?  If I turn them off they yell.  If I have them on, they yell.  If I remove them entirely, they yell.  They spend more time yelling at stupid things than working.

Same thing happened to me while playing at Hobart. Yes, after a while it gets annoying. I tried moving the speakers to a another location, bought new ones and replaced them. In the end I deleted them all and purchased the radio made like a rock and place it near one of the palm tree. The red icon over Sims head disappeared. I am not sure if this a glitch or not as I have not play other resorts yet. I hope this help.

My Hobart's is now 5 star and has no speakers whatsoever!  No more problems with speakers.

I noticed that this starting happening for me right around the same time the maintenance staff stopped showing up.  Don't know if the two things are related, or if it's just a coincidence.

According to the official site, the missing maintenance staff and the breaking equipment are part of the same problem.  Or at least, their questionnaire about the staff problems include broken equipment.  I am assuming your guests are getting annoyed with the speakers because they are broken.   May I suggest that you visit the official site and record your problems.  This way, they just might be addressed quickly. http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/691986.page

I've had the problem with the speakers too - they are not broken. However, I am not able to change the channel on them. I thought that perhaps the negative reaction to them was a new feature - perhaps they have a crappy sound quality, and that's what they don't like? Either way, I deleted them and replaced them with a high quality stereo.

I hate those darn speakers too. I always replace them with one stereo somewhere in the bar and sprinkle around some wall speakers that you can use at home. That way they all play the same music throughout the resort and you only have to control one item.
