Also, I don't understand why they don't make some of the expansion packs into separate games for console.  It would be nice to have Supernatural for console.

Anyway, I can't understand why the console versions have less than the PC.  Do they think console players are less worthy of more fun things to do?  I know that isn't the real reason but I can't think of any good reason why they would make the console version so limited other than the fact that it was cheaper and faster to make, which isn't a good reason in my opinion.

Please share your thoughts.  :)

I think that it's probably because the PC version of the game is more popular than console versions. They would rather invest their time and money into something that will make them more profit.

I'm not a very technical person, but I read something about it a while back, and it was something to do with consoles not being able to handle the size of the game if they put everything in it.  I would much rather they patched all the problems still in the console versions, than release a new game for console.

Sales are definitely part of the reason why there are so few console expansions.  The console version didn't do as well as EA had hoped and they've pretty much stopped production by now.  If it had been a great seller, I'm sure they would have done more.  Some games are just better for PC and some games are better for console.  Sims 3 leans toward PC.

Sims is traditionally a PC-based game and will likely continue to be. I have played the console version (Wii to be precise) before. I couldn't (and still can't) put my finger on it but the game was missing something. Gamers playing Sims are likely to play it on PC, so adjusting to Console can be difficult.

Some of it is definitely technical, (consoles simply can't support everything that a PC can) but the Sims have always had issues converting to consoles. The Sims 2 adaptions weren't especially popular, either, though I think there were a few more of them then for Sims 3.

I understand that the PC versions have more and the console versions wouldn't be able to hold as much data but I feel like with at least the PS3 version and it being blu-ray they could put more stuff in it.

I also see how people usually buy PC and they don't want to put as much time and effort into the console versions but I feel like they need to realize they do have console customers too and they should work a little harder into the console games too.

I also agree that they are probably done with console games for The Sims, which is really sad.

Well eventually they may come out with Sims 4 on console, but they would need to do a LOT of bug testing as to not have it having game breaking glitches like Sims 3. Maybe they purposely made the console versions so bad so we'd all go buy the PC versions lol. If they do make another console version, it would be nice if they could focus on actually keeping family members in the game, rather than when you move one out, you lose everyone else.

Yeah or be able to have more than one family you've created in the same town.  I miss doing that, when I used to play PC back in the 90's.
