The drafting table?
« on: August 12, 2010, 07:07:32 AM »
Well I was using the drafting table for a sim and I thought "Well hey? Why not make money off of it?" So I tried a artistic sim and guess what they did. No seriously guess.

Her sketchs were drawn in (They had color). I said to myself "Aw shucks I just wanted sketchs not art art."

Any one else have stories of the mysterious art table?

Nothing mysterious about the drafting table.  You can do sketches for the Architect Profession, the Stylist Profession and or Painting.  Pretty cut and dried for me. :P

Yeah but have you seen the art work filled in? I rarelly call something that is "filled in" sketchs. Of course maybe i'm getting over excited about it but I want to figure out if anyone else has found something. I'll show you a picture as soon as possible.

Well if you think making $6 per sketch is a good way of making money...  :D I touched on it briefly but I deleted the stylist game and went back to my legacy and will probably pick it back up later on in the legacy.  :)

It's a "mystery" to me why my Sims can't sell the sketches they draw on the drafting table at the "Ye Olde Consignmente Shoppe."

I don't know if it's a just a bug or a design decision.  ???

You can't sell sketches at any consignment store. I think that's crap because it's just like painting and I don't see why a company would go digging into a consignment store for some ideas.

I was wandering around town and I noticed a finished sketch on a drafting table.  So my sim went over and took it.  Turns out the artist of the sketch had died.  Original value $2, Appreciated value $936!

So maybe it's not completely worthless afterall.

Glad I am not the only one that does that, lol.  I did the same thing, only in the consignment shop.  If your sim has level 10 in painting and you paint on the drafting table, the prices are random, just like the sketches.  With the option to paint on drafting table you do not get the option of the size like you do on the easel.  In the long run, I have had some paintings and sketches from the drafting table get quite high in appreciation.  Something to dabble in when your sim is high in skill level, but to make money to live on with the drafting table is quite unlikely at the beginning.

That was so lucky, maybe I should start concentrating when I randomly zoom in places around town!  8)
