Never got my degree

My sim was enrolled in University, and had accrued enough credits for a degree, but when he went to the stadium to get his degree there was a logjam of other sims trying to get into the stadium so he never went in to get it. Now I want to place the degree on the wall, but he never got into the stadium to get it so it's not in his inventory. I figured I'd just send him back to university to get the same degree but the game tell me I've already gotten that degree, so I'm wondering, how do I get this degree? I even tried the buy debug cheat but I didn't see the degree. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

You need to get to the ceremony very early in order to get the physical diploma and be prompted for an extra trait. I can't say exactly how early, but the ceremony starts at noon and getting them to the lot several hours beforehand to get them in straight at noon and ahead of everyone else is pretty fool-proof. He should still get other benefits from the degree, though, such as starting jobs at a higher level. Does he still get those benefits?

This problem is well known. Just save game 1 day before the ceremony graduation and the next morning send your sim to stadium a few hours earlier to be the first at the entrance for the ceremony. Also don't to call friends / household members from homeworld due to some glitches.   ~ From what I remember this method worked for me.
