Can being a Resort Owner be your job ?

My sim is a resort owner. But you can't even choose that as self employed. I can't get her and don't want to get her a job. I want the resort to be her FIRST priority.

There isn't any job tied to owning a resort. The resort can be her first priority if she stays unemployed.

Thats exactly what Im doing in my game, Ive gone so far as make an empty lot my house and used all the cash to help get Hobart's back on it's feet. I got a job in the military as the handiness will help with repairs around the resort and at level 10, I only have to work 1 day a week. I'll probably quit the job before then, maybe once the resort hits 4 stars and is making good money
I cleared out the top of the food bldg and placed a bed there- once I get more money I might even throw up some walls!
Getting to work is a little bumpy, and all my guests laugh at me for walking around in my boxers in the morning, my employees heckle me too (like I wont fire them)
but other than that...free food, great view, made bed every night and all the socializing you could want!
